Last year I taught some one how to
drive a 5-speed Manuel pickup. It was a 1992 gmc 4.3L v-6 with a 5-speed Manuel
pickup. It had a lot of miles on it but it was always very trusty. I taught the
person how to drive it. I showed them that the gears are all labeled on the
stick and that you have to hold the clutch in to start it up. When I told them
how to do it I told them to push the clutch in, put it in 1 and give it a
little gas and ease out the clutch. Then once you get it all the way out and
its still running and moving. I told them to get it up to about 15 to 20 mph
and shift it to 2nd gear. Then from then on you should be able to
tell when to shift it.
